This is a serious question. When a surgeon is cutting off or mutilating healthy organs and tissues, why is that not malpractice?
I don't think surgeons are recognized as having qualifications to diagnose or treat any kind of mental issues.
How can you purport to treat gender dysphoria or something via surgery? Is there any kind of randomized control trials or any kind of evidence at all that shows that these surgeries do anything?

Circumcision has been legal forever, how is that not malpractice? Truth is that Noone actually gives a shit about "facts and logic" or reality for that matter. Culture and politics are all that have ever mattered and they influence what is and isn't acceptable in medicine.

There's a few anti-circumcision groups but they're relatively small right now. Usually hold small protests here and there but don't have the ability to challenge Christians in court yet. We'll probably see bans rolled out in Blue states in the next 20 years.
