There is no such thing as "Taiwanese". They are ethnically Chinese.

Taiwan had it's own natives before Chinese went to there though.

The natives are a minority. They are allowed to make homemade firearms for hunting though. The rest are Han Chinese that fled.

Before the arrival of the Portuguese on the island of Taiwan, only aborigines lived in Taiwan.

But later the Qing dynasty sent hundreds of thousands of chinese to the island to defend the island from western empires and over time those chinese who had come from mainland china reproduced faster and in greater numbers than the taiwanese aborigines
