Biden just extended the pause on student loan repayment for the fifth time.
At this point, the repayments have been paused for two and a half years.
45 million people are paying student loans. The median payment is $222 a month.
That's $9.9 billion dollars a month that people have to spend that they should be paying on their loans instead. Over two and a half years, that totals to $300 billion extra dollars in the economy that should be going to pay loans.
>That's a big cause of inflation right there. Not as big as the endless corporate bailouts and bank bailouts we've been giving giant mega corporations that pay $0 in taxes.
Not sure I'm to happy about my tax money funding Kanye West and Tom Brady's million dollar loan forgiveness either.
Nathaniel Morgan
If we undid Trump's tax breaks on just the top 10% we could erase all student loans with the money and not just 10k per person.
Republicans only talk about inflation and cry over spending when they're not the ones spending it.
That's supply side. That keeps inflation in check. The student loan deferrals are demand side. That's pushing inflation up.
Evan James
Good, I want you to suffer.
Carter Peterson
OK but you have no source No source = no believe
Jace Adams
>The student loan deferrals are demand side. That's pushing inflation up. Oh and the 2008 bailouts for mega corps and banks didn't? Conveniently forgetting about that are we?
Why didn't they bail out the American people, who paid for the massive corporations and banks to be bailed out so the American people weren't foreclosed on and forced into bankruptcy - and who could in turn pay off the bankers who created the entire fucking mess to begin with?
Instead, the bankers and corporations don't have to use their own profits to keep themselves afloat and simply get free checks to the tune of trillions.
All you faggots complaining about minuscule student loan debt should be rounded the fuck up and shot.
Owen Kelly
>That's supply side. That keeps inflation in check. You're a goddamn retard. Do you even have a clue what any of those words mean?
Owen Kelly
Do you understand whats going to happen? The economy will crash in matter of time. And then the blame game will begine. Meanwhile every lower class person will be attacking the middle class. While the rich stay protected and well fed. Hell on earth will happen. Venezuela levels of poverty for a decade if we are lucky. If not the US balkanizes >muh fantasy larp The US is close to or near 60 trillion in debt. That isnt sustainable by any metric
Luke Brooks
>While the rich stay protected and well fed. In New Zealand perhaps they might. Not in the fucking USA. They will be hunted down and they will be eradicated.
Aiden Cruz
No new money is being spent on this so it won't cause inflation you people are fucking retards
I'm using them in the ordinary way. The rich use their tax cuts to invest, which expands supply and reduces inflation. The poor use their tax cuts to buy goods, which expands demand and increases inflation.
Think about it, 45 million people $222 extra dollars a month that they are spending on basic goods and services instead of paying down their loans. That's $10 billion extra dollars a month in the consumer economy, and prices rise to meet that extra spending power.
The scary part is when the pause on repayments finally ends. It's going to be a catastrophe, for the obvious reasons.
Oliver Baker
You believe that lie? Because you are alone in that belief
Lucas Myers
You don't understand. People are supposed to be paying their loans. But they're not. Instead they're buying consumer goods with the money they would normally be paying their loans with.
It's $10 billion extra in the consumer market every month. That extra money people have to spend drives prices up to meet the money available to be spent.
Adam Morgan
people that are bad with money usually stay bad with money
Andrew Ward
Why don't tax cuts cause inflation?
Same logic here retard
No new money is being added
The inflation is from you retards more than doubling the money supply
Joshua Collins
Shut the fuck up you idiot. If you think student loans are even a remotely significant portion of our national debt and not the governments endless spending and corporate welfare it provides, the blatantly corrupt and rigged shit the mega corporations do to not pay any fucking taxes, the endless bank bailouts and fractional reserve banking - then you need to kill yourself.
You aren't a Any Forumsack, you're a fucking milquetoast republican faggot who's failed to conserve anything and celebrates every time the (((alt-right))) has a new based tranny eceleb.
Kill yourself you worthless fucking kike.
David Rogers
This is an interesting take however you seem to have made the mental leap that all saved money is spent and that everyone stopped paying which is not the case
