Artemis is the name for the NASA program to return to the moon this decade. Artemis is the twin sister of Apollo, and in many ways this program will continue the legacy of the Apollo missions. Artemis began in 2017, and the SLS rocket began development in 2011
Current Timeline >Artemis I (August 29 2022) An unmanned Orion spacecraft will conduct a flyby of the moon, and return to earth in a 42 day mission. The SLS Rocket will launch from the historic LC-39B launch pad at 8:33 am EST from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. SLS will also deploy multiple cube sats that will conduct various scientific missions, including sending biological matter encased in cube-sat to study the effects of radiation in deep space
>Artemis II (2024) A Crewed Orion craft will flyby around the moon, and initial construction of the Lunar Gateway Space Station will commence. The Lunar Gateway is a space station that will orbit the moon and act as a hub for future lunar landings
>Artemis III (2025+) The first moon landing since the 1970s. A crew will land at the lunar south pole. An Orion Spacecraft will dock with a SpaceX Starship lunar lander, and land on the moon.
>Artemis IV (2027) Artemis missions are planned for well into the 2030s. Construction of a permanent lunar base is planned for the 2030s.
Oh look, NASA spending billions on legacy boomer companies that can't get anything done instead of going with SpaceX that will do everything 10x cheaper and competently.
Is basically they are gonna do stuff that was already done over 50 years ago and for much cheaper by some krauts.
Might as well just give the money to Musk if they actually want colonies on the Moon or Mars in a reasonable amount of time because I 100% guarantee most of these projects will get delayed and be way over budget.
Then why do people keep hiring them and why to they get getting results?
They are already the most successful commercial launch company on Earth and the starship rockets continue to make progress. Once they succeed the solar system will truly be open to us.
>Is basically they are gonna do stuff that was already done over 50 years ago Moreover, NASA and the (((media))) are just going to virtue signal the entire time about having the first women or "person of color" on the moon. Putting race before qualifications is all that matters to them now. I hate this country so fucking much it hurts.

Maybe it will explode. Wouldn’t be the first time either.
