The vast majority of homeless in America aren’t homeless because they are down on their luck. They are homeless because they are schizophrenic drug addicts who in the past would’ve been bagged and thrown into a mental institution, which was way more humane than letting them shit up the streets.

Sorry to pop the NAP-user's wet dreams, but "things that make society better but don't turn a profit" is sort of exactly what a liberal government is a good solution to implement.

When you remove the individual profit motive as the base requirement for any human activity, yoy open yourself up to a lot of solutions that benefit society as a whole.

Sure, you can twist and turn yourself into making an economic argument about how removing these social ills improves the efficiency of the market economy by removing barriers to entry, and increasing the supply of human capital that eould otherwise become a cost of business to defend against rather than co-opt, but the basic truth remains... it is possible to do non-shitty things if you elect non-shitty people to do it.

lefties here are against policy that ended homelessnes. What we do i that we have lot of apartments for bottom of barrel people. drug users, drunks and mentally ill people.
But those places have social worker office.
People need to comit to some change. no drugs, no booze and so on. worst places are aparment buildings for alcoholics. They are watched over that they dont smugle booze to them.
If those people want to party or dont want to even try to clean themselve up. They cant do it there.
Naturally leftiest people are arguing that its like nazi germany and inhumane to put them in those ''camps''
lot of effort has gone to this system. some places even church is involved. here they have multiple apartment for people like that or families that have fallen to hard times.

What do leftiest offer as alternative? just give these people money.
