It feels like living in the ruins of a once much greater civilisation that conquered the globe but is now so blinded by its own hubris that we are tearing down everything that makes England England. As much as I can live a good life myself, once you see the death of your people, culture and nation you cant help but almost cry at being powerless to stop it and doomed to watch

It won't truly be over for another few decades. It's certainly heading there, but it's not a forgone conclusion and a lot can happen in the meantime. People generally don't wake up to severe societal problems until it begins affecting their day-to-day lives, and with years of economic mismanagement and bad policies now resulting in record inflation and energy prices, we could be in for some drastic swings in the other direction.
Either way, don't give up hope yet, user. There are more battles to be waged yet, and defeatism is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
