Rising fuel costs, devaluing currency, a nightmarish winter for Europe and GB, lack of food in stores, inflation at near 20% and rising and despite people saying it’ll get better mid 2023, it seems like there’s little end in sight.
Is there anything I’m missing that makes it better or worse? I’m prepared for bills that make it so I can only afford 50 bucks worth of food a week, looting, storing on food, making sure I know where my loved ones live so I can walk there if society shuts down completely but I have a nagging feeling that it will get much worse somehow.
I’ve got like, 3 or so months worth of canned food stored up and rising each month, my house’s windows are impossible to break into and the doors are so thick you’d need a car to break them off the hinges. Bills will go up to £6000 per year in 2023, and I am prepared for such. I want to inquire, what else could go wrong and make things much worse than they are or, hopefully, are there things I’ve missed that point to things getting at least slightly easier?
It's a lot worse than you realize. It's a lot worse than anyone realizes. It's worse than anybody could imagine because fiction always falls short of reality in that respect.

buy a pressure canner so you can can your own food. they last forever, get one that seals metal to metal without an extra seal. worst case, you have an IED to deter the crowd while you escape out your spider tunnel. home canning is easy, cheap, lasts forever, and is based.
Xavier Sanchez
You say that but you don’t say how. I say the worst it gets is full societal collapse and, at a push, nuclear annihilation in which case, I live middle of London and would be vaporised instantaneously and not have to live through it all. I like the idea but I feel like it’d be futile. I don’t have enough of a garden to grow shit and I’d likely run out of cans to use for canning
Liam Bell
the cans are large glass jars that are reusable. can cheap food. eat canned food when it becomes expensive. easiest is stew and chili. you can can a quart of chili for a half euro. if things get bad-bad you can can anything and sterilize your own surgical instruments. a canner is one of the only modern cooking tools that is useful. you can run em on a fire easily.
Nathan Cox
Well, I eat jam a lot. Can I just take the jam jars, empty them out and use those?
Gavin Perry
you could kind of. mason jars are nice though (can your own jams and jellies), they have special lids that let out excess pressure so you can pull a vaccuum and can check for seal when opening. canning jars are cheap and last forever. youd be much happier with twelve good jars than a pile of recycles, however it is up to you. jams/jellies are ideal for food inflation--buy on sale during harvest (optionally from farmers), preserve, enjoy readily when fruit is expensive. same beef, veg, etc. pressure canning is way safer and better than hot water canning. skip water canning and get a pressure canner if youre interested.
anyway it will get bad enough to want a home canner. 90% of households had these before refrigeration. so plan for refrigeration to become expensive.

Things are exponentailly worse than they appear. Shit would've collapsed years ago if noy popped up.
You had the answer in hand all along. Use nuclear power to supply your base load, add in hydroelectric where possible, coal fired plants for surge loading, cheap natural gas from the North Sea. Any retard could have made a workable plan. You have allowed your leadership to be controlled by luciferian "elites" that want to destroy the individual nation states you live in. The fact that europeans allow the situation to degrade this far is a testimony to the fact that you do not deserve to be free people. It is not hyperbolic to say Europeans are proving to be lazy, cowardly, stupid and refuse to do the work required to sustain your freedom and to ensure it for your children and grandchildren. You deserve the cold hungry winter coming because you will not leave your shitty little apartments and force your respective countries leadership to do what is best for the people instead of following orders from a luciferian "elite" . You will have no more freedom , liberty or higher standard of living than you are willing to fight for.

Well, if I clean them out, sterilise it, and fill the jam jars with like, I dunno, carrots and potatoes and close it just using my hands how long would those carrots last? I don’t know if I can afford a can lid sealing machine, they all seem to be like 400 bucks Aye, I just like how he’s sat here
Leo Lee
Literally just look into books on preserving raw foods, we've been doing it for thousands of years.
Aaron Long
the good thing about metal seals is they last forever. buy used, or just ask a few grannys. can also be done easily with a pressure cooker. if you like canned food, learning to can is the best plan.
washing is a form of sanitization (cleaning). it doesnt make things clean (just cleaner). pressurized steam is a form of sterilization (no life). it makes things dead (perfectly sterile). you should be sure to sterilize when packing food for room temp storage long term. pressure and steam will sterilize your packaged food. it is really what you want if you can have it.
Justin Richardson
I think I have my wires crossed. Is this a metal seal? Would this work?
Also, there’s a method to seal using foil and an iron to heat the foil to cover the top of the jar, would that be a valuable thing to do?
Globally things are worse than the height of the cold war. Locally things are more akin to the Jimmy Carter era. You have done what you can, all currencies will continue to devalue. The only way it could get worse would be global warfare and there is nothing you can do to insulate yourself from that.
Camden Lewis
it can work, but these are better. metal to metal seal is best for the canner, not the can. i can only into wide mouth quart jars. its easier and faster.
Grow a garden, get an instrument you can entertain yourself with, get a 3d printer, learn basic cad (I use freecad), get guns and ammunition, and learn to hunt. Even if nothing happens, these are good things to do. Keep up spirits tranny (transformers enjoyer) poster.

Well I might look into buying those types of jars then. I cannot in any fashion afford a massively expensive can sealer though. I can do the ironing foil trick though. If I can get stuff to last liek, a month, maybe 2 at a push I’d be perfectly fine and stable. Though I have to ask, what’s the main difference between the jar I posted and that bunch? They’re both glass mason jars with metal lids. >the only way it could get worse is for ww3 to break out So essentially, you believe things could get better after inflation and food crisis’s run its course over 2023? Well I did lie a bit earlier, I do have a garden but it’s insufficient for food growing at the moment and I seem to have a brown finger. I’ve only managed to grow radishes so far and my “everything is fucking ending but it’s not quite WW3 yet” plan involves water being basically shut off so growing and watering would be difficult. I can’t afford a 3D printer nor can I get guns where I am. I do have a guitar though so I could get back into that
Also, Funnily enough though I am actually sort of learning to do 3D modelling for print outs. I bought a couple things to make 3D models on my iPad just so I could attempt to make a replacement head piece for a transformers figure lol

humanity crysis and peaceful times moves in waves, right now we're on the shit part of the wave. that's why we're seeing so many bad things happening at the same time and increasingly getting worse, its going to reach its climax, its going to be a shocking wolrdwide event like WWI and WWII. whatever it is... being the "great collapse" or an actual WWII, its going to be bad, and i believe its going to make WWII and WWI look like a walk in the park.
Once the dust is settled humanity will recover, and things will continue to move foward. with less humans, of course. maybe less than 1 billion.
>worse As the US Fed continues to tighten, the Euro will continue to fall, and Powell has signalled nothing but tightening in the future until US inflation is under control. Meanwhile Team Biden wants to print print print so how that all works out will be interesting in the Chinese sense.
Dylan Butler
the ring seals a seperate plate metal lid. during high heat canning, solids liquids expand and gasses form in the jar. in the three piece jars (glass ring and lid) these excess pressures are vented out before cooling causes a vaccuum to form an extremely tight permanent seal on the lid (you can take the ring off and may need a knife to open the lid). in two piece jars, the lid will back off and potentially not form a seal or the jar can explode (pop) in the canning process.
for how cheap and long lasting 3 piece jars are, ive found them to be worth it. 2 piece jara are good enough if you have a good recipe that works for you though. i just like my shit to be easy, fast, and bulletproof.
Luis Ross
>So essentially, you believe things could get better after inflation and food crisis’s run its course over 2023? No I believe all of our currencies are going to fail and our economies will be moved over to digital currency, the ultimate dystopia. Staying ahead of the game by having 6mo-1yr worth of food and money stacked is all you can do. Short term you will have saved money by purchasing food pre-inflation.
In an all out collapse scenario your stacks are useless, you now have a mountain of supplies that you must defend with your life. When a city begins to starve it becomes all out warfare. Authorities (whom have weapons and training) band together to take what you have. Arson runs wild, people will burn you out of your home if they can't have what you have. Cannibalism becomes rampant.
If you think everything is going to fail zombie apocalypse style then all you can do is try to get a gun, 1 weeks worth of MREs, some fishing yo-yos and conibear traps.

Well can europe do anything to counteract the falling euro? Also it’s not just the euro. Cad, Aud, GBP, Yen, etc are all falling against the dollar massively. Okay, thank you, I now understand it, but I can’t find any 3 piece jars online. Or like, i can but none of them actually say 3-piece jars and some of them clearly just aren’t. Do they have another name to look for?
