I have a story for you guys that i think you'll enjoy. When i was in college i had a jewish friend who i was pretty close with. it was an earlier and funner time, so we gave eachother a lot of shit. I'd do shit like reach across the table and feel his forehead for his temperature when he reached for the bill. Stuff like that.
But i have one story about him that is the best story that has ever happened to anyone, and its a crime i can't tell anyone. He and i were oddballs and we'd have friend dates where we went to the mall on weekens every month or so and we'd walk around and drink orange julius and talk shit. Well one weekend we were doing just that and we walked by a jewelry store. I nudged him in the ribs and said "hey user, its your familys diamond shop". An obvious joke about his jewish heritage.
Well, he didn't take it that way. He looked at me with this look where he was both tired and horrified. Just resigned. He said "who told you?" It struck me like a meteor and the biggest shit eating grin of my life spread across my face. It really WAS his family's diamond shop. His family owned this entire nationwide diamond company. My antisemetic joke was RIGHT. He took me into the store and identified himself to the manager, who then took us into the back office where there were portraits of my jewish friend's uncles and grand uncles.
You probably won't believe me, but this is one of the fondest memories of my life. It was the first time my racist stereotypes were 100% right, and i've never forgotten it.
