Ok so, because Southerners in the US fly the Confederate flag, the South is still the Confederacy? Makes no sense. These Russian soldiers probably were infants or young kids when the USSR was around and they’re only flying the flag out of national pride. Either way these posts calling Russia Communist are laughable stupid yet I don’t think the people who post them realize that because I keep seeing them pop up.

The people in the government of the USSR agreed with Marxist-Leninism. If they didn’t, Stalin would have purged them. There was literally an entire era in the USSR’s history known as “The Great Purge” where this happened for decades. The people who served in the government were usually veterans of the Russian Civil War and were Bolsheviks during it. Stalin was obviously a horrible person who I despise, but he was definitely a committed Communist. His personal library had thousands of books all of which were about Socialism and Socialist philosophy. He was literally about to become a Priest before he renounced it and dedicated his life to Marxism. So yea, the USSR was ruled by Marxists. A case can be made that in the post-Stalin era, there was a “revisionist coup”, but Khrushchev was also a Bolshevik veteran in the civil war and everyone who knew him said he was a very committed Marxist and Brezhnev was also a hardline Communist.

The dissident right and alt right have always been distinct. The dissident right is low profile, has concrete geopolitical views, and is traditionalist at its core. This means nuance, not mindlessly cucking to Duginism. The alt right is the group propped up by media attention and the Internet's random sperging. All of it is offshoots of Richard Spencer's racist neoliberalism. It's not even thought provoking, it's just racism taken to its logical conclusion. Russia is ruled by the same bolsheviks in charge before the 90s dissolution, and have the same amount of power, except in addition to just being powerful oligarchs, they also have money in addition now. You still have to go through the government to get approval for anything at all private, though. It's not technically socialist anymore but it is ruled by the same people with similar systems as pre 90s ussr.
