I was well decorated in the army for my rank. I received eight army achievement medals and two army commendation medals as a specialist within four years I used to be extremely proud of those things until I deployed and two buddies didn’t come home. I got out shortly after. All my achievements became superfluous because I know I could have done better. Brought them back to their mothers.
Achievements are for people who want to be reminded they did something special. They’re meaningless pieces of paper or awards. The real achievement shouldn’t be broadcasted or showcased. It should be remembered and felt.
