Lotgh (the original, look up a viewing order guide) it'll be rough between your tolerance for anime and the lower framerate but the story and characters are well done. Skip or mute the power ballad intro. There's a minor faction that copies a part of the original Star Wars. Even if you don't ever watch anime this is the one to watch. It's a long show but it generally pays off. Think Napoleon/Caesar in space with lots of political intrigue.
