Student loans are one of the few loan types you can't declare Chapter 7 for.
Honestly, if people were stomping their feet, demanding that student loans be made Chapter 7 eligible, I would say that's a perfectly reasonable position. But the whole "LET ME OFF THE HOOK FOR EVERYTHING" schtick reeks of the mentality of spoiled brats and I oppose unconditional debt cancellation for that reason alone.
