Goods of real value will be worth more than silver or gold after the collapse.
Someone who is struggling to grow food will have little use for a silver or gold ingot , but they will be willing to trade for iron and steel they can forge into tools . Or ammo that they can use for defense and hunting, and no there will not be very many 1%ers who will have the disposable resources to trade for luxuries for a several generations, perhaps in 100 or so years once things settle down and they are established as neo-feudal lords will they want jewelry, but in the period immediately following the collapse they will want things that are useful for survival , just like everyone else.
