Thanks for the link, but I think the problem runs deeper than the generic tall poppy explanation of why NZ is a shithole. In my opinion the root problem is we are two faced, its the taunting of travel brochures and prestine beaches lined with heroin needles. Its just good enough for us to have an idea of what good is while still being entrenched in a world of shit, creates an uncanny feeling among the depressed. Id equate it to early 2000s Japan or 1980s Australia.
