One large contributor is the rise of smart phones. Used to be, pretty much everyone here was on computer. Threads had active engagement bc interaction here wasn’t passive. Just out a few threads, and look at at the ratio of single-posts, or especially posts that reply to op, but few replies within the thread. This doesn’t even take into account the addition of id’s and flags here.

At this point, I am just thinking of retreating completely intro retro gaming, and just going away from the internet as a whole. I noticed since 2020 that most people I knew that were right-leaning have basically left the internet too.
I wish there was a way to make some sort of counterculture possible. I am not part of the nazi, nationalist, etc. subset, but I would like to see the leftist idpol replaced, as well as depoliticization of Western education and entertainment. The problem is that any nexuses to which could lead to apostasy among people under 25 have basically been eliminated.
The people that now do adopt non-leftist worldviews under 25 that are not belonging to a conservative religion are usually very anti-social rejects now. There are simply no nexuses to which normal people can realize you can reject all the present bullshit without having to become the boogeyman of their culture (an unironic nazi).
