Think about the sheer amount of assfuckery they were allowed to get away with without fear of being caught on video/microphone, and the spread of information relying mainly on word-of-mouth.

I agree. I just stop caring. I never liked history books because they don't even hide that they just cherrypick information to push whatever narrative is most aesthetically pleasing to them. Also, the big bang didn't happen, and time is an illusion. Time is more like loop, it has no beginning or end, historical events do echo through the ages because of the loop nature. Also magic is for all practical purposes real, because if you hypnotize everyone to believe something then it becomes objectively true in every meaningful way. The power of suggestion can cure deadly poisons, someone who thinks they have an allergy to flowers can see fake plastic flowers and then have an analphalctic reaction and die. Ultimately reality is ruled by faith, visualization and willpower, but modern society takes that power away from us by making us read fake history books, watch teevee, "beleev sceance", jack off to porn and so forth. Don't worry about controlling what humans do on earth. Have faith in Christ and you will have an eternity in heaven forever. Right now we are in the sorting Hat like in Harry Potter. Live and focus on the reality you want to be in instead of gawking at what NPCs are doing.

History is a matter of perspective, wordplay, twisted truths, mistranslations, forgeries, incomplete/damaged texts, historized myths, etc... often what we know about an ancientkingdom/whatever might just from one guy who wrote his opinion 3,000 years and we found it, half missing. Nesta Webster here renders a spell binding and beautifully crafted account of the horror of the French Revolution. Prior to reading this excellent book, I had enjoyed her "World Revolution" and "Secret Societies and Subversive Movements", each of which were written after "French Revolution". Interestingly, Webster repudiated some of the points made herein in those later works. Candidly, I think she may have been too hard on herself in so doing.
Webster's fundamental theme here is that the French Revolution resulted from a web of conspiracies, the primary of which was that of the Orleanist faction. Also involved, in her estimation, were Illuminated Freemasonry, the Prussian Court, and English Jacobins. In her later works, she ammended this position to give primary emphasis to the Illuminati. Careful reading of this, her other works, and those of Belloc on the same period indicate to this reviewer at least, that she had the players rightly identified but may have only erred in assigning their relative importance in this earlier book.
In any case, the work is both great art and significant history. Any who would truly understand this terribly important epic of modern history would be well served by carefully reading this very important book.
