I've heard that before the start off ww2, Poland was killing ethnic Germans that were now in Polish territory after ww1 and that Hitler attempted to stop it through diplomacy but was ignored. This lead to 60.000 ethnic Germans being killed before Germany invaded.
Is this true? If so, wouldn't that mean Poland was the aggressor and therefore the ones that started ww2?

No that was propaganda. They did start roughing up germans after the war began tho. Danzig was a 95% german city that poland had no claim to and which overwhelmingly wanted to return to the reich. It wasn't even polish territory, it was free city poland was granted certain privileges over by the old league of nations. Of all german prewar claims its claim to danzig was the most legitimate.
