democracy worked for the romans and they lived like drunken swine. The problem isn't democracy, it's us. For all of history every group of people throws their greatest men away in wars. We are no longer what god intended us to be.

Here's something for you to think about in regards to determinism:

If George Bush lost the election and Kerry won would Obama still have gotten elected? Would Trump have won in 2016? There's accounting going on the background to balance fate, but ultimately you are correct democracy is a farce. The politicians in office might come and go, but the people who own all industry, control finance, and the media will always be who you expect.

Pure Democracy is unironically worse than Communism in its potential for brutality, oppression, genocide, etc. The USA founders knew this. Thats why the IS should never consider itself a democracy, nor should it have tried to advance democracy as a virtue. The USA was made a Democratic Republic as a check against the tyranny Democracy brings. I wish more people knew that.

Democracy is good for small countries and city-states. In large countries it can work, initially, but only if the country is mostly homogenous. The problem is that large countries have a hard time maintaining a unified population with shared culture, values, and characteristics. Once the minorities start to come in homogeneity goes out the window and democracy no longer works. Thus to save our country we need to either a) kick out or kill the minorities and silence their voices or b) change our form of government. Unironically a monarchy or empire might not be so bad.

Representative Democracy is hacked and it's not going to be a system that can provide any means for representation.

As technology becomes more and more developed, there will be computer simulated political candidates that are entirely fabricated, their faces will look human, their voices will sound human, but they will be a work of fiction.
They will say and push all the talking points you want to hear and read into your news feed, but it will all be auto generate, parsed from your conversations with your friends and family as well as the content you post online. It will get so good that everyone will have entirely different talking points pushed into their personalised feed of the simulated avatar speaking your points in your feed that is completely isolated from the rest of the world to give you an illusion of representation.

The worst part is its already here.
