Yes and no. Our military has the Rangers which are our special forces who are world class but our current army is woefully underfunded and only really useful for peacekeeping due to our neutrality. They have had some crazy feats under their belt like the siege of jadotville which sounds like a fucking fever dream but true

No. I work with several twenty something ex military guys. They are all getting 100% disability tax free. Nevermind that they still are able to work at a good civilian job and participate in activities like skateboarding. They have an unearned safty net civilians will never have.
