Why are mental issues so prevalent now?

Why are mental issues so prevalent now?

In the past it seemed most people were happy and had good attitudes in life, even going through rough patches.

Nowadays, especially among younger people, it seems everyone is one bad event away from disaster. How did it get like this?

Lag of communities and the internet basically.
Information overload. At age 12 they know it all nowadays or think they do and life becomes boring.

Partially a difference in communication. Are you mourning? No you aren't retard, you are suffering PTSD and depression after an acute traumatic event leaving you with chronic anxiety.

One does note however that suicide rates have been climbing gradually for over two decades now.

Imagine a world where life is so devoid of meaning, so isolating, so miserable that people have to take pills just to cope with the pain of living. Now open your eyes!

This, meaning crisis is the top most reason.

No religion, no spirituality

No family, marriages taken for granted by family courts.

Men not being men anymore. WOmen not being women anymore, they want to be men now.

Young poltards won't understand yet, but the answer is atheism and meme pagan shit. Strip the Holy Spirit away from society you get bad mental results.

Man is a social animal. Your well-being and inner growth/happiness is tied to your participation, membership. contributions, awards, recognition to a group; the most essential group is the nuclear family. Regardless of what progressive social engineers say, everything starts from biology. You know that because if you ignore your fixed physical needs, you die; if you ignore your social needs, you die mentally and the body follows. The body is not separate from the mind. Evidence that we can rationalize delusions is not proof of overriding the facts of reality anymore than committing suicide against your biological imperative to live is proof that you escaped facts of reality.

Most people live in poverty. Inescapable poverty. Most people work shitty jobs. People aren't meant to work 40 hours a week.

>Why are mental issues so prevalent now?

Fashionable.

As for causes, no single one, but I'd credit the birth control pill with causing a TON of fucked up things to happen like children being born to mothers of unnaturally advanced age before dying early in their children lives. It created a society where to compete you had to take drugs that make you barren. I have to think that has fucked cultural and biological implications.

It's also that society is totally dumb about the issue. The reaction is, and this is universal, more money for mental health. Empirically mental health has been not a slight but a massive fucking failure of cataclysmic proportions for like over 2 decades now. Yet everybody just talks about how mental health needs more funding, social narratives are driven by psychologists talking about dominance hierarchies and anti-trans violence.

Computers and telecommunications in general are also rather huge as they have totally radically warped the social structure.

This might give you an idea

Oh I'm also missing some rather huge and obvious things

>A lot stronger drugs
>Rising income inequality
>yada yada

lack of diversity and walkable cities

>if you ignore your social needs, you die mentally and the body follows.

So how do we fix the problem? We live in a society that increasingly devalues real social relationships and places value on parasocial, fake relationships via social media. A lot of zoomers don't even interact with each other outside of the internet anymore.

It seems like it already has begun. These isolated people only interact with co-workers and online now, increasingly, they are trying to isolate us from even co-workers via shit like gigwork, which completely digitizes normal human behavior and social interaction. I feel like this is heading to a very dark place.

Yes I noticed that. There was a thread earlier about how medfags are getting assraped with 500k+ debt to pay for medschool, and they can't even find work because foreigners are taking their jobs, which hospitals LOVE because it hits their diversity quota. Then they were talking about how Pakistani doctors took 3 week courses and paid $400 to become MDs before coming to America.

What is the point of even bothering in that climate? You'd be an idiot just for trying.

Previously unhealthy behaviours were suppressed, now they are encouraged. This is not some illness, this is simply a behavioural strategy that works in the modern world. In the past you were beaten for being a cryfaggot, now the more you cry about being incapable, the more is given to you. Violence is your answer. Violence is always the answer.

most people nowadays realize their jobs are pointless

lead poisoning

You'll be the first against the wall.

Almost everything. Internet hugboxes, constant exposure to porn/sex/entertainment, doing anything for attention, abandonment of reality and the adoption of relativism, thinking we/you know it all/arrogance, taking on SCIENCE! as a religion. And I'm sure there are more that I can't think of right now. The point is that being/doing any of these things require you to be mentally unhinged. And these things are all normal and encouraged by society in general now. You WILL go insane when you live like that.

>The body is not separate from the mind.
That reminds me of something I read a few years ago. Something about mental and physical pain being basically the same thing. Which makes sense because the brain is where pain is processed.
