Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any philosopher kings that could ever make decisions on behalf of Americans, for that would be the ideal way to govern. There is a shortage of wise leaders in DC.

Perhaps the last wise leader may have been Obama, for the very fact that he was truly a Machiavellian statesman. I am pretty sure he is running the country through Biden, much like how Putin ran Russia through Medvedev that one time.
