The BBC had an article about "The Great Resignation" a few days ago. "The Experts" had all predicted that people would stop resigning once Trump was out of office and the pandemic brought under control but to their surprise, it's actually accelerating, with over four million people quitting their jobs each month and twelve million open positions not able to be filled (400% more than when the pandemic started).
What did the BBC and "The Experts" say was the cause? Not enough covid restrictions were making people scared to return to work. Not enough emphasis on equality and social justice in the office, so people are quitting to find jobs that "give meaning to their lives". Too much work from home is pushing people to quit since they aren't getting the comradery they used to get when everyone worked in an office.
What wasn't mentioned? Vaccine mandates, CRT training, or competitors offering better pay/work environments poaching employees.
These companies are going to woke themselves into oblivion once the easy capital influxes disappear due to rising interest rates and their non-woke competitors out competing them.

Never do an exit interview. If you quit, they can't force you to do one. If they lay you off, they can require one to get your severance but in that case, they know why they're getting rid of you and there's nothing you can gain by saying anything.
Some people think it will be good to vent or get back at some manager who wronged them but that gains you nothing. If you hate your manager, the last thing you want is for them to get fired and end up out in the same labor market you're in. You want them contained at the employer you're not going to be with anymore.
There's also the chance that someday you'll want to return to that employer or maybe that they'll acquire your new employer. In which case you don't want HR to have a file of anything negative about you.
Reason for leaving should always be "pursuing an opportunity elsewhere" and no more detailed than that.

to be fair, I do believe making the company the most money you can is your primary responsibility. Call me a boomer boot licker or whatever but I became more financially successful and it made my job easier when I realized I was just a cog in the machine who is supposed to make my business money first and foremost. I make more money with this mentality than with the mentality of my primary responsibility is to pay my bills and take care of myself.
