Yeah, one of the biggest arguments people were making in favor of getting rid of the tipping wage here was that we wouldn't have to tip anywhere near as much if they were getting regular wages, and people voted for it, so we eliminated the lower wage and tipped employees are paid the same as everybody else. And the only thing changed is that service got a whole lot worse.

Outside of shitty places like Denny's or some diner, you can make a lot of money waiting tables. I did it for a couple of weeks, had friends in college who did it, and the paycheck is an afterthought because you're bringing home hundreds of dollars in cash every day.
