Modern Jews enjoy larping as the people of the bible because pretending to be important helps assuage their enormous egos and grossly inflated sense of self-importance.
Jewish historians and academics knowingly perpetuate the falsehood as part of a scam they are running to grift money from Evanelicals in the United States, but every now and then one of them breaks ranks and spills the beans like Prof. Shlomo Sand did 10 years ago.
Also, larping as the Judahites is better than facing the truth, namely, that they are descendants of converts to the religion who spent the entire medieval period marrying their own cousins in ghettos, with the result that they are now more inbred and genetically messed up than the Pakistanis.
