Scientology is a legit cult that sucks money from the members, isolates people from their family and friends and has a major cult of personality.
Depends on the issue in question. Just because you signed an agreement doesn't mean the court will uphold it. For example Scientology could make you sign something that says you'd resolve any murder disputes in arbitration instead of courts but a court would never uphold such a document.
