Let me redpill you about Islam. Coming from a Muslim like me, you may take it with a grain of salt, you may do your own research, you may even say muh taqiya or whatever that meme is.
Muslims don't read the Qur'an.
Sure, Muslims recite the Qur'an in Arabic, but nobody bothers to learn the meaning of the book. All they know of Islam is whatever their teachers taught them.
The bulk of what is "Islam" today is from the hadith rather than the Qur'an. And this hadith, retarded as it is, is more accepted to the general Muslim population.
Hadiths are basically recorded acts or sayings of Muhammad. Problem is, it operates like a Chinese Telephone. A typical hadith is like "I heard from my uncle who heard from his friend who heard from his mufti who heard from a friend that Muhammad said kill all dogs." You can see the inherent problem with this but the regular Muslim can't. Their dogma doesn't allow them to.
A lot of what is Islam today actually goes against the very holy book we claim to practice, even the non-extremist practices.
