desu, the Ukranians are being wise and cautious, trying to weaken the opponent more and more while keeping their own expenditures of men. I think they're just trying to maximize the Russian attrition rate by HIMARS'ing and stepping up regular lend leased artillery. Whereas pushing may put them forward, the losses can be avoided by just pushing the Russians with logistics strikes and rear action sabotage.
All of this is building up to the final decisive crippling punch where the Ukranians sweep forward as the Russians totally collapse.

So why did Ukraine announce an offensive in Kherson for August when it doesn't look like the frontlines will move anytime soon? Was it purely to relieve pressure in the east? I get that they shouldn't attack for the sake of attacking but announcing things and not following up feeds the narrative that the war is a stalemate.
