I don't know. Men who have given up on finding a woman tend to do things they actually enjoy, even if it's just video games and drinking. They don't actively seek out unattractive traits and flaunt them, e.g. deliberately dressing poorly, eating garbage, divesting from society. There's nothing right wing about any of that, but it sounds like you just threw that in there to conflate the two. There are right wing incels, but those are the MGTOW folks who figure, to hell with the rat race of finding a girl and the hassle of pleasing her, I'm going to focus on bettering myself and doing things that I really value. These people don't spend a lot of time wallowing.

This is the same reason why a lot of men will make extremely crude comments to women in the guise of a pickup line instead of genuine one, it's a means to engineer a situation where you can act like the rejection was on your terms instead of on the woman's, giving you back a sliver of control in a social situation where you normally have very little.

The other reason we do it is because its hilarious, but you get what I mean.

Ironically they really both seem so diametrically opposed to each other that they most likely never will, despite having access to almost instantaneous and global communication. It’s my understanding that the rise and spread of the goblin mode movement seems to be in almost direct response to the incel movement, which in itself is a reaction to the sudden societal shift caused by the growth of the internet. What I mean is the tragic irony here is that we’ve never been able to communicate with each other more immediately, yet that is possibly the underlying cause of our rapid and spreading alienation from each other as a society

The male equivalent of this behavior is perverse and deliberate homelessness. Not the kind where you check in at the shelter and look for work and the city finds you temporary housing, but the kind where you refuse to subject yourself to that because you keep failing at every aspect of it, from the work itself to the task of getting along with others and submitting to authority. The woman who sits in front of her refrigerator in an unwashed robe is a match for the stinking bum who lives under a bridge and won't even clean out his tent.

You might see awkward cringebros doing this sort of thing out of fear, but I think you are talking about negging which is a tactical decision and requires both confidence and a degree of sincere indifference. (Also women like it if they haven't been trained to detect and recoil from it.) Negging isn't (or shouldn't be) "extremely crude" though, so maybe I just haven't seen the behavior you are describing.

This is a good observation. People don't seem to grasp that the meat and potatoes of social interaction, and the point of it, is physical proximity to other people. For a minute it seemed like we were starting to grasp this, and using Tinder and Facebook as a springboard for going out and doing things, but then TikTok came along. It's interesting that nobody ever meets or organizes in person because of TikTok. I wonder if their algorithms are set up to sideline users who try and do this.

You’re literally just describing the male inverse of the female goblin mode, because that’s exactly what they’re doing by all accounts. They looked at the world presented to them and didn’t like what they saw, and saw little to no possible rewards from participating in what was previously understood to be the norm, so as a response they’ve shifted their focuses inward and eschewed societal norms. As far as I can tell they’re essentially the same movement divided on gender lines. The only tangible difference being that the male incels are violent and kill people fairly frequently
