When she was pregnant the weight wasn't entirely the baby, her belly had to form a flesh cushion to support and protect the baby, that's what she has to lose.
It's easier to lose weight if she has enough sleep and is eating actual food (meat and veggies) rather than empty carbs -- though she does need carbs as well as breast milk is heavily sugar. Rope in your mother and wine sister if you must, but make sure your wife gets enough rest or she will start secretly resenting you and dead bedroom begins.
