Ducks need a watery/muddy environment, so it's naturally more resource intensive.

Also because Americans don't know any duck recipes. Even with chicken, Americans can only fry or bake them.

Why don't you just raise your own? White Pekin ducklings come in under 5$ each if you buy 30+ and they're about 3:1 feed conversion ratio.

They're a bit more work to pluck than a chicken but they're not rocket science to keep alive.

I keep ducks for eggs. They are nasty stinky smelly diarhea machines. Id kill them all if I could and just keep the chickens, unfortunately the eggs sell well and pay for my other animals.

Yeah, I don't know why desu. You can occasionally find duck when it's already packaged with something else, but goosee is especially hard to find these days in supermarkets. t's coming up to Michaelmas, and I'll have to go to a butchers beforehand to ask for some in. They're also the only place I can seem to buy liver as well, which I find even more strange because: let's give them the benefit of thr doubt: they just don't kill geese, whatevs. But they *do, kill cows and harvest their meat. So where and what are they doing with all the liver they could be selling??

Ducks are free if you know how.

Duck is expensive so most grocery stores don't carry it aside from holidays. You need to go to an actual butcher if you want quality duck

The ducks at the pond are free. If you are poor and hungry you just need a makeshift net and you can catch some wild game.

Ive got duck a few times from my local butcher.
The fat content is very low so its difficult to cook. Its a fine line between under cooked and over cooked.
