consider It doesn't have to be a full-on genocide to be a veritable warcrime and damnable in every way the Russian war crimes are.
Yeah, things like that too. It's almost incredible to expect such a detachment from soldiers directly in the field but it is what is objectively necessary. Probably also the reason these guys tend to get much lighter sentences (or at least I emotionally-speaking hope my impression is right).
