Russia tried to imitate the US march to Bagdad. Differences are, that Kiev is right next to the border und that Russia failed. Russia never managed to have air superiority and they got bogged down to a WW1-style trench and artillery war. Before this "special military operation", Russia was the number 2 military in the world and Ukraine was and still is the poorest and most corrupt country in Europe.
