I can agree, not just giant nuclear power stations are needed though. Salt Thorium reactors were a thing in the 1950's, the size of a small bus it could effectively power a neighborhood as well as smaller scale commercial buildings. It was also so stable that the engineers monitoring it were frequently bored and in the event of any malfunction could be safely and easily buried.
