The vaccine doesn't do nothing. It protects from covid, and doesn't really kill anyone. For anyone healthy and under 40, it's pointless, because covid itself isn't dangerous for that demographic. For anyone vulnerable or over 40, there's a decent case for getting vaccinated.
Same as the flu vaccine really. Most people don't need it, some people do, and it's not going to kill you.
