Why are people so fucking obsessed with traveling? Yeah, going on vacation every once in a while is nice, but these people want to do it constantly. Flying is a hellish experience. Airports are hell on earth. Sitting for hours on an airplane sucks ass. Jet lag and sleep deprivation wears you down like nothing else. And when you get there, you spend so much time driving around and doing even more goddam traveling. It's awful. Like 25% of the experience is actually decent and everything else is just a headache.

This isn't a good plan, even with money. Everything is fine until you need something like cataract surgery, and then you're not able to travel for several weeks and don't really have a home.

My parents are still together because my mom could not go a day without my dad. They've been doing well for 69 year olds who both still have to work but when he had his heart attack she was an absolute mess and picked up smoking again because she couldn't handle him being in heart surgery for several hours. She would have been fine financially if he died. As much as a have beef with my mom, a real partner doesn't even consider their money or their travel life when you are gone, they should fear YOU being gone and the emptiness that leaves them with. Anything else isn't love, it's literally "just a phase".
