Because although it technically predated the events in 2014 it wasn't known or used by much of anyone until moderation dropped the hammer on ggshit here in late 2014. They rose to prominence through the exoduses of users and eventually the place got wordfiltered/blocked because Any Forums basically always puts a stop to any competitor image board advertisement. You can thank Mr. Alm for that one. It's still blocked to this day for some reason despite the fact that I'd wager more than half the consistent users from there came back here in the years since double chan shut down proper, and Watkins's version struggled to hold down the valuable userbase. All they ended up with in the end is schizos and boomers. After all, quality posts, high level discourse and effortposting all lead to one place, disengagement with portions of the system designed to distract, and toward taking part in activities in meatspace. The owners of this site want neither of those things. Why do you think book, self improvement, and deep history threads, even ones specifically concerning historical political systems are almost instantly pruned? Gookmoot and his moneyed backers and advertisers don't want that shit here, or the people who post it associated with the site.
