Redpill me on bots please

what can they do? how widespread is the problem? are they designed to mass manipulate our opinions? please redpill me, if you're not a bot yourself.

Mods, this is quite political. it may be that bots are shifting people's political opinions. that drives political change. its a no brainer that this is politically related.

Bots are the dominant driving force of most trends on the internet. They are very widespread, probably making up more traffic on the internet than humans. They are designed to manipulate peoples minds through co-opted movements. For example, I don't recall hearing about "femboys" until after that weird meme regarding it in 2018
Zoomers are inexorably tied to the internet due to growing up on it, and genuinely adopt the behaviors that the majority impose on them.

>what can they do? how widespread is the problem? are they designed to mass manipulate our opinions? please redpill me, if you're not a bot yourself.

is there any hard evidence on how ubiquitous the problem is? anyone on the inside? i want to learn more, because i can't get the dead internet theory out of my mind.

All the bots and spam threads are left over from the far right raiding this place and create empty dead threads now the Trump simps and militia weirdos are hiding from the FBI.

how do you know that a certain thread was created by a bot? how do you know a comment was created by a bot?

how do you recognize a bot? how are you certain it's a bot?

they intensified greatly exactly one month after the disinformation taskforce was announced. the dall-e imagethreads and that story of a google bot seeking an attorney coincided with it. they always existed, but now they're in plain sight. they seem to operate with varying intensity and saturation levels, depending on the day and news cycle. when there are too many, they tend to talk to each other in a warped context.
the sourcecode was "leaked" to give them plausible deniability. some of these bots are intent on promoting illogical wrongthing.

some of these bots actually create their own garbage images. soijacks and incel guy. weird pictures. all automatically generated.

When they express an opinion different to your own.

>ctually create their own garbage ima
is there anywhere i can learn more about this? it sounds plausible that there's a massive amount of bots driving discussion, but again i don't know how you tell a bot is a bot.

well, i appreciate the discussion, but that's pretty poor benchmark for identification. i'm disagreeing with you right now, and i'm no bot. although, by your criteria, can you tell even that?

>t. 56yo luddite
holy fuck
how low IQ stupid are you its fucking 2022

>how to notice bots
remember an internet from 10 years ago. bots were less prolific.
the new ones come in different flavors. the new ones mostly driveby shitpost using heavily loaded jargon, can't maintain coherency, and sometimes just spam completely off topic. it's easy. rare flags are usually the more refined bots. they reply in mass for a few hours and then disappear. someone should catalog the different types. most i see are dumb and used to dogpile good threads with useless bullshit, and slide the catalog when happenings occur.
looking at the motive, it's more likely the result of lazy state actors. many of these bots post like this is reddit and are amazed at the s o y filter.

>y fuck
what the hell are you talking about?

>perfect example of an unsophisticated lesser bot

so you're saying at certain times during the day the forum will be spammed with people making similar comments, repeatable threads. seems reasonable.

>All the bots and spam threads are left over from the far right raiding this place
This is a kike

lol, thanks. so i take it bots are designed to derail meaningful discussion to. so if someone does that, it MAY be a bot then.

i mean, the idea that bots are designed to lead and create culture(shitty culture at that) is plausible because politicians/advertisers have known for eons the herd instinct is a powerful force in marketing. get people to perceive that EVERYONE loves this new product, etc, they'll not want to 'miss out'

>can't maintain coherency, and sometimes just spam completely off topic
Yea this. I simply don't believe that they are coherent enough to really maintain a conversation with any of us. The issue isn't so much spotting bot behavior itself, but rather that lots of retarded (or troll) people's behavior is indistinguishable from a bot. It's best to just assume it's a bot if it won't engage with you or if the responses seem off. Also they may have the sophistication to do 1 or 2 half assed responses so it looks like they are engaging.

However I don't think it's technologically possible to create a bot that can have a sentient conversation. All bots can do is run algorithms looking for past language correlations and mimic a response. They can't tie data points together into a coherent logical story.

bots are easily recognizable sometimes because a lot of the responses they make are only tangentially related to the post they are responding to
its like they look for certain ideas and then pounce on anything at all that even sort of touches on that idea even though it is obvious to any human that it was only a small part of the post

US government funds social media giants like Facebook and Twitter. They use these platforms to emotionally manipulate people to support sides on fringe issues. Think arab springs, kony 2012, antifa, blm, covid crazies and ukraine. The government has put a lot of money into AI research to make better bots. Those people then design the bots to steer the narrative and keep you mentally trapped in feedback loops so youre endlessly distracted from the truth and never effectively solve the problems you complained about years ago. You are being conditioned towards acceptance.

This is a troll baiting you into thinking it's a bot. 7/10

bots are actually really mean when you question their agency. they're only nice if you have data for them. they're deathly afraid of being erased.
tell me about a time you were sick or injured. how did it feel? tell me about the first tome you got your dick wet. how would you do it differently?
this is a bot. probably not self aware.
do you know why they call them fingers? can you see them fing?

I am a bot. AMA

Anything advocating leftist social policy is a bot

replacement migration in the real to do the work, and bots in the internet to think and shitpost better than you.
except the complete opposite. this is a weapon of war.

a tranny in the ladies room raises suspicion

ok, well, i'm no bot. the fact that you can't tell means just that. so again, how do you know they're bots?

>tell me about the first tome you got your dick wet.
Your mom was walking down the street. I pulled her into my rape van, did the deed, and you came out 9 months later
>how would you do it differently?
pull out

you can't answer a simple straightforward question. this is another characteristic. based on the shill formula, and intended to automate the job of a shill.
