I don't think anyone is against taxing the rich. They already pay a higher tax rate than us thanks to our progressive system. As their income goes up, they pay an increasing high rate. I do think we should eliminate many tax havens. Make the tax code simpler. But it's not like they aren't paying, that's just a dog whistle used by the democrats to make us hate rich people. It's bullshit.

Can't speak for Any Forums as a whole, but:
1. Taxing the rich too much just means they'll move somewhere else.
2. "The rich" are usually (usually) rich for a good reason, most are only rich because they run companies worth bajillions of dollars and they own enough stocks of said company that that alone makes them billionaires, even if somehow their banks themselves are empty. (Side note: FUCK the *useless* rich people, namely the awful actors that still somehow get roles, and the Kardashians.)
3. Taxing the rich almost always ends up with them passing the increased costs down to their employees, firing people, withholding bonuses and raises, etc.
4. There's so many loopholes in the system that they themselves wont be affected as much as you'd like. (Company-funded charities, those little charity tip-jars at grocery stores, making donations to dodgy events, whatever. Google it. These big corporations don't do charities to be GOOD.)
Taxing the rich doesn't accomplish SHIT. If you want to punish the rich for being rich, your only option is to close all the little loopholes, AND go out of your way to put taxes and tariffs on anything done outside the country, namely the tax havens, that way they'd be forced to work within the country, have all profits go to American people directly or indirectly, which also comes with the benefit of relying less on foreign countries.

This. Amazed to find some a gem is an otherwise shitty slide thread. Anyone who says "we should tax" is really saying "Let the goverment, which is ran by theives, steal more." The opposite of letting the rich rape America is NOT taxing them. It is removing their monopolies and enforcing fair laws that benefit the middle class. No taxation is sneeded.
