I'm curious about something. Why do I see artillery shells landing a few meters away from soldiers and they keep moving like normal? Aren't they supposed to die from the blast/fragments?

because either from terror or habit they keep moving and sometimes the fragments miss, and sometimes they discover later that they've been hit. Sometimes of course they just die on the spot. Some people say this causes a lot of religious thinking in soldiers because they know that they can randomly die at any point, so they start to ask for favors from god to keep them safe.
