More than 10 tons of dead fish have washed up coming from the Oder river on the border between Germany and Poland. Officials suspect that a toxic substance is to blame, but have yet to determine what it is.
Poland has found methylene contamination, while Germany has found traces of mercury, but followed up by saying it may have been due to large amounts of salt in the water.
Gonna give you a rundown >beginning of 2022: company Jack-pol, specializing in paper production gets cut off from local sewage system, because sewage they were dumping was just too toxic for sewage treatment plants to deal with >CEO of the company is father in law to prominent polish politician Jacek Sasin of PiS (Law and Order) political party >Polish gov agency "polish waters" (created somewhat recently by Piss) gives company Jack-pol permission to dump sewage into Oder river >end of March current year dumping begins, multiple accounts of local fisherman about dead fish and chemical smell coming from the river get completely ignored >about 4 weeks ago mass dieoff of fish and other aquatic creatures begins, ruling party trying to silence the reports and sweep shit under the rug >current day: toxicity of oder reaches such levels that literally everything in the river dies, Germans get involved, ruling party still silent about entire incident, state television gives catastrophe entire 1,5 min of time during news segment

I expect a gold processing plant to do that level of toxicity, but a paper mill? Wtf are they cooking in there?

They're probably printing bose einstein fluid ghosts like in that movie Spectral.
I knew there'd be some insight here. Media blackout.

>>Polish gov agency "polish waters" (created somewhat recently by Piss) gives company Jack-pol permission to dump sewage into Oder river Wanna bet that "Polish Waters" was created specifically to allow Jack-pol to dump their shit? Under the previous system, we had regional water management boards, and these were difficult to control (too many people to bribe).
I think they just dumped years worth of shit. Germans are saying that there was a 30cm wave just before the fish started dying. This also suggests attempt at cover up, i.e dumping reservoir waters in an attempt to dilute.
