it's especially sucks because i'm doing something that's not in my area of expertise when the place i work at also does things in my field. so they hire a guy with plenty of experience in one part of the business to do something totally unrelated. i'm going to quit if i'm not transferred over soon. you'll be fine, just find a couple hobbies that get you outside.

I'm self-employed and I turned down three new contracts this week alone. I could have almost tripled my current income but.... I just... don't want to. I paid off my mortgage a few months ago, and now my mandatory monthly expenses are so absurdly low that I could maintain a fairly comfortable life on almost any job. I own my car and my house have a well-funded pension and a Roth and a 401k, and my monthly bills are under $600 for everything, the rest is disposable income and I put it in an i 401k to dodge taxes. I guess I could be wealthy ir whatever, or expand my business and hire people... I just don't want to. Instead I want to read history books, and build weird shit in my garage, go shooting at the range, go fishing in my kayak, and plant a garden and work on some landscaping projects. I'm trying to build a pond next summer and I'm thinking about building a sauna. I'll never understand people who want to work all the time it makes no sense to me. What a waste of precious life.
