Meat is a highly efficient means to consume calories and clearly something we evolved to have in our diet. A diet without any animal products is clearly unnatural as one must take a bunch of unnatural supplements to maintain a healthy diet. Certain vitamins are only fully processed by the body when taken with animal fats. Meat animals are also an efficient use of grazing land that crops cannot grow on.

The problem, really the only one, is that our constant consumption of meat is highly unnatural. In the state of nature we'd be mostly vegetarian with sporadic feasts of meat once a deer, Buffalo, or wooly mammoth was taken down. We also don't suffer in the winter anymore, no longer are we forced to eat dried meat, fish, and storage crops to survive. And taking human quality food, like corn, to raise cattle in pens is a mockery of the efficient use of grazing land. But we do it because we demand to eat meat several times a day in a great excess compared to the state of nature
