I’m surprised that Germans didn’t go with nuclear power in the first place. From what I know about Germans is that they value efficiency an order and it’s uncharacteristic that they would have selected the worst types of renewables. It’s true that nuclear isn’t “renewable “in the way that it doesn’t harvest energy from nature but if we all use nuclear power we could have an over abundance of energy that would completely kill the energy industry that makes money. That’s the reason we don’t have more nuclear energy is because it is not profitable.

Germany did have a moderate amount of nuclear power up until fairly recently (not as much as France, but still quite a bit). The wind and solar fags have been pushing back against it for the last 15-20 years and after Fukushima there was enough 'nuclear panic' to get Germany's government to go forward with shutting down and decommissioning all the plants
