Cuz you get a gun instead which to be fair is dope

To attract retards.

Soldiers should be on the GS payment scale instead.

You don't even get a gun, they just lend you one.

This should be the standard for all government employees.

>rent to own
Even better

Because they don't have to.

Most of them do their job because it's their only choice or the only way they have to do what the, want after (paid scholarships). They're unlikely to rebel due to being exposed to constant brainwashing, they're disposable and last but not least they don't deserve it.

You sound like a real aristocrat faggot.

cannon fodder
also most of them are Scot-Irish hicks so we can get away with paying them less because they are at the bottom of the "white" totem pole.

el americano de las americas

The only thing that is hard to upgrade from a military M4 is the barrel

I was told by recruiter 20 years ago that military pay was going to become competitive with civilian corporate pay. I don't even think I competes with Home Depot or Walmart!

Because they've got every citizen sucking their cocks, "thanking them for their service" and everything from airlines to home depot giving them discounts and perks. Fuck the war machine, pay them nothing.

They don't. You're not factoring in housing, which the government covers. That is a separate line item on your monthly paycheck and isn't factored into the E-O salary charts. The pay is based if you do your 4 to 8 years and immediately get out. No other company will pay an 18 year old 40k a year starting

t. made around 40k a yr as a dumb fuck e-3 (18 year old) right out of high school

Then it shouldn't be hard to lobby for normal pay. We'll find out how much they are really loved by Republicans.

>housing, which the government covers
Do USDA firefighters get charged to sleep in the firehouse?

because believe it or not we're in a time of peace

Better question, why are there federal employees?

Not in anyone's living memory.

40k a year is poverty now.

*for people that have to make rent/mortgage payments

Firefighters and nurses/medical proffesional are typically what could fall under skilled trades. Soldiers out of basic don't have or need skills, its where you toss the dregs. You don't pay dregs good money thats stupid.

imagine being a 40 year O1E

A lot of their compensation isn't direct dollar pay. And in their service they often go long periods outside typical economic activity.

You don't get to pay ditch diggers that little.

Ditch diggers provide something useful for society
