"Supernatural" means "that which is above or beyond nature". "Nature" in turn denotes existence regarded as a system of interconnected entities governed by laws and apprehended through observation, all of the entities acting in accordance with their identities. The idea of the supernatural is an assault on everything a rational man knows about reality. It is a contradiction of every essential of a rational metaphysics, not a logical consequences of them. It represents a rejection of the basic axioms of philosophy, or in the case of Aquinas, the failure to grasp them in order to preach to the not-yet converted. I'm neither impressed nor interested by any argument that posits an understanding beyond human understanding or an existence beyond this one. Faith in the supernatural inevitably stems from faith in the supremacy of other men, and I have none to offer since I'm a man of intellectual self-esteem.

First of all, "laissez-faire capitalism" is a redundancy, albeit a necessary one these days. Capitalism IS the system of laissez-faire; it is not the mixture of political and moral opposites that leftists decry and that rightists feel uncomfortable with. In a free market, there are no government controls over the economy. Men act and interact voluntarily, by individual choice and free trade, trading value for value, not fraud for favor as in the crony capitalist system that most people (incorrectly, if not intentionally) call the proper representation of capitalism.
Second of all, historically speaking, pure capitalism has never existed. It was asymptotically approached in the United States during the period of the Industrial Revolution in the nineteenth century. That was the first time human beings came closest to an unbreached recognition of rights and therefore to a free market.
Thirdly, to address your complaint that a laissez-faire economic system is not actually in anyone's interest, it is in the interest of anyone who is not a parasite on ambitious people nor a power-seeker attempting to enslave them. Assuming you're neither of these kinds of worthless dregs of society, you'll definitely want capitalism so that you'll never have to endure the horrors of the kinds of people who believe wholeheartedly in the virtue of the alternative. Go somewhere to live by force or fraud instead of by trade, and you'll wind up dead, miserable, or imprisoned soon. That's the kind of life you claim is rational, proper to man, of interest to a human being?

Capitalism presupposes a state but it could never produce a state. Anarcho-capitalism is against human-nature. The only capitalism that can exist is corporatism/state-capitalism. The reason capitalism exists is power. It was not a creation of "the people".

historically capitalism is the collusion of banking (amsterdam city bank, 1609), corporation (VOC, 1602) and the sovereign state (westphalia, 1648) to harness labour and capital to create new markets. with it came colonialism, the slave trade etc etc. the nothing more capitalistic than literally owning people. of course capitalism didnt invent slavery but profited off it nonetheless

America was nowhere near pure capitalism in the 19th century. The American economy was driven by protectionism and subsidies to manufacturers. It was called the "American System". The railroads couldn't have built a single mile of track without the government clearing the Native-Americans off the land we stole from them, then granting the railroad right-of-ways with eminent domain, after we gave them assloads of money. The subsidies to the railroads heavily subsidized the steel industry, among others.
You could argue that American industry wasn't heavily regulated, but it was still corporatism run amok.

The only reason slavery doesn't exist in capitalist countries today is because industry made free labor more profitable. The purpose of capitalism is power. There was a quote by Milton Friedman that I always like...
