Was talking with my wife and discussing the "era"s of Disney, and I pointed out that during the 60s and 70s of Disney, they had a lot of teen stars that went on to be successful actors in their own right; Kurt Russell, Jeff Bridges, and Hayley Mills being examples. And I pondered the fact that these actors not only seem to never have mentioned any pedo bullshit going on, but went on to have pretty long careers, and also be semi-based in their perspectives. Kurt Russell seems to be a right-leaning libertarian, and Jeff Bridges seems to be apolitical to a point that he rejects narratives.
The hardcore pedoshit really seems to have germinated in the late 70s-early 80s, and many of the rumors and accusations seem to point to Steven Spielberg, but in general don't seem to link back to Disney, who has obviously gone hard progressive in recent years. And I wondered when that trend might have started. I was born in 82 and remember enjoying sort of the "second golden age" of Disney: Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc. I lost my taste in the mid 90s when Pocahontas and everything after it just didn't seem to have that "magic". It was more clunky with its narratives. I pointed out that Disney very much kind of got its "magic" back when it partnered with Pixar in the late 90s. And there was sort of an infamous feud at the time in the press between Disney's head, Michael (((Eisner))), and Pixar's head, Jeffrey (((Katzenberg))). I wondered if maybe that big merger that really revitalized Disney might have been the point Disney started really doing the pedo shit. For the hell of it, I looked up Jeffrey Katzenberg. Well, look what I found.
