A Polish paper mill company was allowed to release mercury into Poland's 2nd largest river causing the death of the entire ecosystem thanks to extremely high mercury levels. The pro-Jewish Polish government, PiS, had been ignoring the problem but German researchers tested the river water and found the mercury levels were so high they could not be measured.
The poison has caused mass death of fish as well as other animals like beavers and the poisoning of dogs that drink from it. Poles are advised not to fish at the river swim in it, or even go near it.

Just finished watching a documentary about a flood of 97'. Absolute no help from the government, no food, water, communication. No one knew what was going on and they kept pretending that it's going to be okay. Every structure that was supposed to stop the water was built way back by fucking Nazis.

This is so dumb. If the river was killing the fish they wouldnt all decide to pile up on the shore but instead would be floating or on the bottom. This is clearly someone using a drag net then just letting them all go to die on the shore. Ive seen this picture before several times when people are bringing in their catches with nets.
