Is the American healthcare system a scam?

Yeah

100% yes. They'll charge you for shit you didn't even get and then your insurance will fight tooth and nail to not pay for it (but not to void it when it's bullshit, just make you pay for it).

just like everything else in world, you're paying for those who don't

How would you fix it?

lmao , just now discovering it?¿

Probably start with preventative care not being paid for with insurance

Why is this even a question?

If you ask for an itemized bill and tell them you are investigating medical coding fraud they will downgrade your shit fast.

this is double edge - since preventative care, hypothetically pretending is actually preventing emergency care, not milking you for all you're worth - means continued care, rather than a haphazard emergency that may result in one less customer.

Insurance not covering preventative care means less customers buying the product.

Now it's fair to admit that 'preventative care' is not functionally preventing shit, but I don't see the proposed solution actually addressing the problem. At best it just functionally denies money to the medical system through fewer encounters.

Dude people actually pay their medical bills? Nigger I don't pay shit. Doesn't count towards credit score. I throw away the letters and ignore the collection calls.

I'm in canada with my family and my dad had a heart attack and had to get open heart surgery. He managed to get it for free even though he isn't a citizen. The long wait time stuff is all a meme.
If we were in america right now, he would be in debt for the rest of his life.

I just think it's dumb to use insurance which is based on probability for something you already plan on buying

Based

Illegals use the emercency room for evrything and dont pay a dime. There is always at least 1 illegal mother with 6 or 7 spiclets in every california emergency room at any given time.

You're a shill. I had to wait more than a month just to get a possibly cancerous growth checked out. You non-citizen father gets fucking open heart surgery for free? With my fucking tax dollars? Even if that's true you should fucking neck yourself. I hope your dad dies.

>You non-citizen father gets fucking open heart surgery for free?
Yes, seethe cuck. We're wiping our ass with your tax money.

>Is the American healthcare system a scam?
It scams insurance companies so the hospitals can provide care to Hispanic Illegals for free.

literally do not pay your bills and tell their accountants you are too poor
its literally that easy
think of all of the lazy millenials that are in the positions of being the accountant. they DO NOT care about you. this works to your benefit as since they literally DO NOT GIVE A FUCK besides anyone but themselves, they will simply check the box or click the icon that files it under whatever jewish bullshit closes your case.
Only retarded shabbos boomers would spend more than 3 minutes pursuing you for a bill that some branch of the govt will cover at the end of the year
compassionate care is sometimes the umbrella term for dealing with this

I went in for a covid test and I was charged over $500 for the visit. I do not have insurance and I didn't even see a doctor just a nurse who told me nothing I already knew. I called them after they billed me and they said they cannot reduce it to any capacity. I will never go to the doctor again, what a fucking waste.

Yes, and there are non-profit hospitals that will just forgive your debt if you can't afford to pay a bill.

Same. Got in an ATV accident and had to get an ambulance to the hospital. Got the bill a month later, $25k... I just lol'd and threw it away. That was 2 years ago and the letters just stopped coming.

those fancy hospitals arent cheap to build

I’m surprised there aren’t more mass shootings in USA over healthcare debt.

Cold

Malicious

Only honest post so far. Disgraceful treatment

I am still mad about that. Thatv was also when the hospital system was getting fucking billions from the fed government for covid shit. Guess where all that went? Is right on the fucking money.

>Malicious
He's the malicious fag. We didn't come here to seek out treatment, it just happened.
If he's pissy about it then he can blame the government instead of people that have nothing to do with it.
The system is a scam and anyone who defends it needs a bullet in their head. No punishment is severe enough for the kikes that facilitate the current system.

by it do you mean our current kikecare system? lets first start with capping prices for both the drug manufacturers and hospitals. i feel like only doctors should decide what should be capped and what should be kept far away from govt. if done right we probably wont need to resort to socialism

Not true.
Two of the most popular surgeries (shoulder and back) are easily prevented by consistent massage and chiropractic care, for more intense cases physical therapy and robotics.
However most people in all industries are retarded and that leads to malfeasance no matter what.
We joke that the government is just smart enough to do a job but not ask questions. Reality is, the whole world is like that.

I literally had chest pains and passed out while standing. Went to the doctor, and he said I was tachycardic, and to keep an eye on it.

A week later, I went back, and he sighed and got out the ECG machine. He sent me a digital copy. Here's what it showed. Look up a normal ecg to see what it looked like. He said he didn't see anything wrong with it. I insisted on seeing a cardiologist, who did a heart echo, a stress test, and bloodwork. He said, "We'll do it again in 6 months."

I got billed over $1500 for it. Since then, I just picked up an apple watch for the fall detection in case I pass out at work. Canceled all future appointments, and am never going back.

Got myself a recumbent stationary bike on facebook, and use it while watching TV and playing video games. Some guy here recommended the active ingredient in CoQ10, so I've been taking it. My ECGs still aren't normal, but they are a hell of a lot better than they were before all this.

tl;dr Non emergency medicine is a scam, and I've since lowered my insurance to Catastrophic at work.

>preventative care
Isn't that health care? Sick care is for people who go to the hospital with ailments.

>American is bad because you have to pay money
>Canada is good because you have to pay money but to the government instead
Fascinating
