Red pill me on silver. Why do we stack it? Why do we choose it over gold? In a SHTF situation, will brainlets really accept silver for food/ammunition/other things of value? Can I buy silver bars/coins from private mints that come with assays or do I need to stick to government mints to maintain legitimacy?
This is political because as inflation and the political climate worsen, investing in tangible assets becomes necessary.
Why do people still believe in this 28 Days Later type fantasy? Grow the fuck up. Buy it as an investment.
>inb4 silver jew The jew projects as he misdirects. Death to all kikes.

Silver is closer in value to a loaf of bread than gold is.
Aaron Moore
It has been actively shilled by the kikes to gather "prepper"s' personal information. Some directionless millenials and boomers with dosposable incomes them got tricked into "posting their stack" because wealth and sense of preparedness are the only source of ego for them. It's the same shit as the DNA test garbage. Notice how both of them are now no longer being shilled here as much as before. If you wanna reeeeally prep, you want guns, medicines and canned food not some boomer rock. Hello kike

Silver has intrinsic value. It can be made into hundreds of different things and used for its antibiotic properties. The main thing about any type of physical currency is that it must be easy to transfer and hard to fake. I'm not exactly sure why some would prefer it to gold but as for an actual SHTF situation.... I really don't think average people will care about silver or some sort of regulated currency. It would just go to bartering. You'd probably be better off investing in ammo, medicines with long shelf life, or tools in general. Takes up more space but seems more practical.

This doesn't seem like a reason to avoid it to me (assuming it is a good idea to begin with). Tracking gun sales is more efficient and way easier to do.

Genuine question: Wouldnt it be better to buy another strong fiat currencies such as the swiss franc or british pound that have proven strong throughout the time other than buy gold and silver? I simply cant understand the difference between precious metals if they lose and gain value the same way as any fiat...
Ayden Johnson
Historically you are wrong, those boomer rocks have held more value in economic collapse than anything else.
Andrew Murphy
They’re manipulated to lose value by western banking, they are absolutely a finite resource that is tangible, where as fiat is abstract.
Cameron Cooper
During a serious SHTF scenario, there probably won't be a whole lot of bartering going on. Once some form of "rule of law" normalcy returns, it is certainly possible that silver will be currency again. It was a widely currency for the vast majority of human history. Bartering becomes really inneffcient really fast, so human societies almost always agree on some form of currency. In a world where the dollar has become unstable, I think its likely that people will return to silver. However, a real SHTF scenario is not the most likely case for which you will wish you had silver. Just a gradually increasing distrust of the government and a gradually increasing rate of inflation seems to be the scenario now. Whether that's enough to get people to prefer silver over dollars, I'm not really sure. I wouldn't be overly concerned with getting government coins or assay cards. I think its worth only a small premium over generic bullion, not a large one. For example, American Silver Eagles have always been my favorite form of silver bullion, but I have been mostly avoiding them for the past couple years due to the high premiums. The biggest reason to avoid government bullion, I think, is because the intentionally limited supply of it is one of the methods used to control the price of silver. The people can buy a lot less total weight of silver, and affect the total demand a lot less when they're paying $35 for ASEs compared to $25 for generics.

but the promise of precious metals is to hold value, and they can be manipulated to lose or gain value, so whats the difference?...

One is finite and tangible, one is infinite and abstract.

The value of silver is more manipulated, suppressed, than gold Stackers think that ((( they ))) can't manipulate the value of silver forever, which is true but ((( they ))) might be able to continue to do so for a very long time.
This is a concern, but I’ll just pass it to my kids as an heirloom then.

Thanks for the genuine take, user

Silver is mined at a 8:1 ratio relative to gold. Gold is recycled, whereas silver is not. Silver also has more industrial uses than gold.
If the mining ratio of 8:1 was reflected in the price of silver, silver would be ~$200 per ounce today. Considering that the value of gold is also suppressed suggests that silver SHOULD BE more than $200 per ounce.
Yeah. Even if silver doesn't go "to the moon," it should hold it's value much better than fiat. We might actually witness the death of rothchilds fiat funbucks in our lifetime.
Ironic that they're at war with gold considering the faggots that do that all have "gold" in their name.
Jackson Rivera
>death of fiat That’d be the death of the entire western economic system, that would be the death of modern western culture, so yeah, I hope so.
Angel Kelly
we're already in shtf. go try to buy something with silver and see how that works out for you.
Easton Harris
Main reason people buy silver over gold is they look at gold and think it's too expensive. That silver is undervalued.
Josiah Morris
Apparently you are unaware of how bad things can get. Calling the current situation "SHTF" is naive. It is only spiritually SHTF
Grayson Gonzalez
It sounds nice but ((( they ))) want to replace paper fiat with a digital fiat that can track every transaction. We are facing a one world communist gov't and ((( they ))) want the power to turn off your ability to buy and sell for doing anything that ((( they ))) don't like.
Silver collecting is a nigger rich larp. It's literally nothing more. You niggers that collect it get stacks of it and think "wow I'm rich dawg, fuck the system. I'm going to be a king if there's an uprising!"
Seriously silver collectors are all fucking retarded. Every single one I've met has been fucking stupid.
Jaxson Jenkins
I know, they can try a lot of stuff, but I’m still unjabbed. People can say no, threats of violence only go so far and even violence is a finite resource.
