This 100%. It's all garbage, and it's surprising how SIMILAR the two shit countries are to each other. Japan has a million genres; sure, there's action and teenage power fantasy and so on. But there's slice of life, slow burn dramas, complex psychological thrillers, science fiction adventures, the exploration of brave new frontiers, political debates, cuteness and healing for the sake of spiritual replenishment, etc etc.
Every single "manhwa" from china/korea is a social revenge power fantasy. They all follow the same pattern: claiming brutal vengeance on all your neighbors and peers by having better consumerist toys than they do. A common scene, repeated literally over a hundred times in a single work, goes like this:
>Protagonist walks into a high-class store, say a wine shop
>All the other customers and staff sneer at them, saying "Look at this poor low-life! They could never afford the good expensive wine like ME! They should just kill themselves!"
>Protagonist buys the most expensive wine, and everyone shrieks and shits themselves in rage. They literally tear their hair out and their clothes open in defeat. They fall over on the ground and writhe while the protagonist smugly looks down on them in contempt.

>"Look at this loser! I bet he drives a shitty car!"
>Protagonist steps inside the most expensive sportscar
>Shrieks, cries of fury, gouging out of eyes, etc.
That's literally ALL they think about. There's entire series of 500 chapters of a woman getting revenge on every single person in the country by showing she can drink tea better than them.
